Hello everyboby, I'm new user of Silverlight File Manager, which is a total amazing module for my site. Thanks for that. I have some questions to ask concerning the use of the module: 1/ Is there any User guide for File Manager ? If yes, I didn't find it in this site. 2/ I have to manage folders for each roles in my site. Role1 can upload in folder /Documents/Role1 Role2 can upload in folder /Documents/Role2 etc. Do I have to put one module for each role, or can I manage them in the same module ? 3/ Why, when I create a folder, this folder gets the name "0" on the server instead of the real name of the folder ? For exemple, my Role1 create a new folder in his root folder (which is /Documents/Role1), named "test" If I go on the server, I have the Folder Role1/0/ Many thanks for the infos ! Jocelyn |

1) There is no user guide, sorry 2) We have more than one File Manager on this site. With "Silverlight FileUploader" you would place a different version on a page. configure it to go to a particular directory, and then give access to a certain group. With Silverlight File Manager 3.0 or Silverlight File FileUploader 2.0, each person always uploads to their own directory. 3) The files are always uploaded to the same directory, the folders are "virtual" meaning there is an entry in the database that says "the files are in this directory" when in reality they are in the same directory but with a random file name. This is done as a security feature and to allow you to move files between directories without performance issues. |

Thank you for this reply. in fact, i'm a little bit disappointed with the settings of the module. Or may be is there something i'm making wrong... I tried creating 2 pages, which allows 2 diffrents roles to upload in 2 differents folders. This work fine. but when I arrive on a page, I have a list box for choosing a user to watch his folders/files. I don't want (and I assume my users don't want, too) that someone can see what folder exists adn/or which files are uploaded in there personnal folder. Is there any way to adjust this. Very simple solution is that when i'm a user Test1, I arrive on my page with the module, just see MY files and folders in the repository, without possibility to change to user "Test2" and see what folder or files are in his personnal folder (i'm not sure that i'm so explicit, I hope so) 2nd thing : How can I use my files uploaded in, for exemple, a html module ? For exemple, I uploaded an image in my folder, and I want to use it in a HTML Module. I click on the add image, browse server, and then... I cannot see any folders or files created by silverlight file manager. Many Thanks for your help! Jocelyn |

1) The module doesn't currently do this, but we provide full source code so you can alter the module to do the things you need. 2) The module can only see files uploaded using it's interface. It is important to remember that the real purpose of this site is to demonstrate how things are programmed. This is why we always provide source code and the content is free. |
